The blooms start as an old-fashioned rose color with raspberry-red flares at the center, fading to a more intense hue as they mature. The flowers are fragrant, with yellow-beige petals and a purplish rose blend at the opening, fading to a soft, persistent undertone. This strong, fast-growing peony forms a compact, medium-low bush with dark green foliage and few side buds. A consistent bloomer, 'Old Man Dandy' is an Award of Garden Merit winner, ideal for adding charm and fragrance to any garden.

Growing & Maintenance Tips for Paeonia x ITOH 'Old Rose Dandy'

Easily grown in fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Performs best in full sun to partial shade. Before planting, add compost to soil. Remove past blooms. Cut foliage to the ground in fall. Plants are long-lived, but do not need to be divided and can be left undisturbed for years. Fertilize once a year.
